Candy Hemphill Christmas is a third-generation gospel singer beginning with her grandmother's siblings, The Happy Goodman Family. "I think the reason that people from all walks of life can relate to gospel music is because the words give them encouragement and a sense of acceptance...We all need to feel loved. Whats New?
Candy's son, Joshua, recently got married, her daughter, Jasmine, is a sophomore at Lee University and her youngest son, Nicholas, is in the 8th grade. Now that her children are all grown up, Candy and her family are excited that she is travelling again after her hiatus. This, of course, means she is now accepting tour dates.
Candy and her husband, Kent, also started a church in Nashville, TN. "The Resting Place" is located at 533 Brick Church Park.
